The employees at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Hamburg develop and produce in the core areas of axles, axle components, lightweight structural components, steering columns, exhaust manifolds and pioneering e-mobility technologies. Modern welding processes and the combination of hydroforming and plastic injection molding have been further developed at the site for series production.
You will face these challenges:
Investigation of various measuring systems for recording the thermal change in length of an air-gap-insulated exhaust manifold Investigation of the existing measurement technology and evaluation and comparison of the measurement data (including capability analysis) Market analysis of temperature-resistant measuring systems Development of a test setup including measurement setup on the HG test bench Investigation of possible influences of the environment (temperature, vibrations, etc.) on the measurement results Test execution and presentation of results Comparison of the measurement results from the test using an FEM simulation (update of the existing simulation) Calculation of the thermal change in length over several heating cycles Discussion of all results (simulation, test and market analysis) and subsequent recommendation of possible potentialsThe final topic is determined in consultation with the university, you and us.
Qualifikationen Degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent Confident written and spoken German and English skills Confident handling of MS-Office Commitment and ability to work in a team Analytical mindset and strategic way of workingAdditional information:
