Lead Data Centre Technician (m/w/d)

Job Summary

Are you an experienced IT professional looking for a unique opportunity to showcase your skills? Equinix, a world-class company in the information technology industry, is seeking a Lead Data Centre Technician (m/w/d) to join our team in Düsseldorf.

As a Lead Data Centre Technician, you will play a crucial role in the development of new concepts and techniques. You will consistently work on complex assignments that require independent action, demonstrating your exceptional problem-solving abilities. Your focus will be on sophisticated tasks that require highly skilled and independent judgment, all while supporting the overall team.

Responsibilities

Systems Support

Investigate and resolve reported/detected faults by thoroughly analyzing the issue, determining the root cause, and implementing the necessary solution

Summarize observations from technical investigations and generate detailed reports for the customer

Installation

Understand customer cabling requirements, perform site surveys, and provide cost estimates to sales

Install new cables and perform testing before handing them to the customer

Vendor Management

Handle, brief, and instruct vendors for installation, testing, and labeling

Maintenance

Perform preventive maintenance on Data Center equipment to prevent faults from occurring

Leadership

Assign, instruct, and supervise Data Center Technicians

Plan core duties for Data Center Technicians to complete

Ability to manage and supervise the project team

Project Management

Handle multiple projects and assist in designating work to the team

Technical Expertise

Apply extensive knowledge in network and equipment platforms, systems, and circuits

Qualifications

High school diploma in the IT field

Proven years of equivalent work experience in a Customer Operations technical environment
