As a Cloud FinOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in optimizing and managing the financial operations of our cloud infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure cost efficiency, resource optimization, and financial governance within our cloud environment. Your expertise in cloud cost management, analysis, and optimization will contribute to the overall success of our organization's cloud operations.

Your impact
  • Monitor, analyze, and optimize cloud resource usage to minimize costs while maintaining operational efficiency
  • Implement and enforce financial policies and governance frameworks to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints and compliance requirements.
  • Develop and maintain cost reports, financial dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to provide insights into cloud spending patterns and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to establish cloud budgets, perform forecasting, and provide recommendations to optimize resource allocation.
  • Identify and implement strategies to optimize cloud resource utilization, such as rightsizing instances, leveraging reserved instances, and utilizing spot instances.
  • Engage with cloud service providers to understand pricing models, negotiate contracts, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate with DevOps, Engineering, Finance and Management teams to align cloud resource utilization with business objectives and financial targets.
Who you are
  • Strong understanding and experience with cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure. Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a benefit
  • Proficiency in working with cloud cost management tools and platforms, such as Azure Cost Management (Microsoft PowerBI), AWS Cost Explorer, Google Cloud Billing, or third-party tools like Cloudability or Flexera One
  • Strong analytical skills to analyze cloud cost data, identify patterns, and provide actionable insights.
  • Experience in budget planning, forecasting, and resource allocation for cloud environments
  • Very good written and spoken English skills.
  • Written and spoken German skills are a plus.
