Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our client's finance team in managing various accounting processes specifically focused on the Europe region.


The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and compliant recording of expenses, analyzing financial data, improving the operating procedure, coaching and training other departments for financial related topics, participate in financial projects and supporting various finance initiatives. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, exceptional analytical abilities, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

1. Expense declaration supporting and supervising:

- Maintain accurate records of expenses incurred by the company's operations in the European region.
- Reconcile expense reports and receipts to ensure proper documentation and compliance with company policies.
- In charge of office expenses, finance dept. related expense declaration.


2. Expense Analysis:
- Analyse expense trends and variances to identify opportunities for cost-saving measures
- Prepare and present reports on expense analysis per type, cost center, individual, budget etc. to management as required.


3. Daily supporting to other departments for financial topics:
- Provide in time feedback to the question or help request from other departments regarding financial topics.
- Collaborate with other accounting and finance teams to ensure timely and accurate payment.
- Continuously provide training to EU staff on business processes, standards, policy and system usage related to finance and tax to ensure their familiarity with the requirements.


4. Vendor and Bank Relations:
- Communicate with vendors regarding expense documentation, policy adherence, and any discrepancies clarification.
- Support HQ to do local communication with banks.

5. Compliance and Policy Adherence:

- Ensure compliance with company expense policies and guidelines.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and policies related to expense reporting.

6. Process Improvement:

- Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of finance related procedures.
- Project participating by collaboration with various team, local and HQ to streamline processes and resolve issues.


7. Documentation

- Draft local standards, work flow, training material etc. related to EU accounting and financial topics.

- Systematize existing documentation.


8. Audit Support:
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations related to expense accounting.


9. Others
- Other tasks assigned by supervisor

Requirements


- Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and expense reconciliation.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Fluent in German, English and Chinese is essential.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Quick learner and highly supportive as a strong team player.
- Experience with SAP, ERP systems is a plus.
