Field Engineer (f/m/d) – High Voltage Testing on Large Generators – Worldwide

After the morning briefing with our customer, you will go to the site to set up the high voltage testing equipment and connect it with one of the large turbo generators of our customer. You will ensure that all quality and safety standards are fulfilled before energizing the system with up to Volt AC/DC. During the tests you will monitor the data and optimize the test parameters to gain a profound understanding of the condition of the generator.Finally, you will analyze the results and give an assessment about the condition of the generator and recommended maintenance activities. In the debriefing you will discuss these results with the engineering department as well as with our customer. How You’ll Make an Impact  Prepare and perform various electrical tests on generator windings and stator core such as Dielectric Standstill Diagnostics (Partial Discharge Measurement, Dissipation Factor Measurement) 500Hz Stator Core Loop Tests High Voltage Tests - AC and DC Voltage Drop Test Recurrent Surge Oscillograph (RSO) Measurement Perform fact-finding activities and robotic inspections on generator components during service outages Carry out troubleshooting, analyze customer problems, liaising with Engineering and implement remedial measures Compile records and reports to document the condition of the equipment Prepare and complete tests to prove operational readiness As a Field Engineer (m/w/d) you will independently service power plant components (electrical generators) worldwide Your office is the world - and our challenges are more exciting than any traditional office job What You Bring Bachelor/Master of Engineering (Electrical or related field); fresh graduates encouraged to apply; relevant work experience is a plus Willingness to expand knowledge of turbo generator design and technologies, including electrical insulation, for in-depth product understanding and test object analysis Understanding of technical equipment, ability to work with technical documentation, and knowledge of general power plant technology Experience in power plant operations and maintenance; Siemens Energy Generator operations and maintenance know-how advantageous Strong analytical skills, affinity for technology and innovation, proactive and convincing attitude; resilience and ability to work independently under pressure, multitask, and solve problems in a complex environment; collaboration with international teams High degree of flexibility, unrestricted mobility, ability to work in a team, and strong communication skills; willingness to travel internationally on short notice and work flexible hours; excellent knowledge of technical English and German
