This role is based at our Darmstadt office 5 days per week for the first 6 months and then reverts to our hybrid model, currently 3 days pw working from the office.

Role Responsibilities
Reporting to the Regional Senior Legal Counsel for EMEA, the role has scope to flex and grow to suit the right candidate. Support is required across the following areas:
- Support manager with presentation preparation, drafting of correspondence and fielding general enquiries from EMEA business teams.
- Assist with drafting, formatting and reviewing commercial agreements, including but not limited to; Software and Support License Agreements, Order Forms, Change Notices, Confidentiality Agreements, Commercial Leases, Government IT Procurement Terms (e.g. EVB-IT) and other Vendor Agreements.
- Act as an initial point of contact for the local business team. Identify and escalate legal risk in transactions, processes, and disputes to senior members of the Legal Team, as appropriate.
- Provide input into the implementation and maintenance of strategies, policies, training and procedures.
- Assist in the maintenance of an electronic databases for contracts and workflow management across EMEA region.
- Contribute to Procurement activities in EMEA region, ensuring compliance with internal processes.
- Support manager in completing, filing or sourcing ancillary documentation such as certifications for insurance, tax certifications and corporate filing documentation. Maintain corporate documentation library.
- Liaise with business teams on commercial approvals and legal vetting of third parties, monitor commercial approvals, worklists, cross-departmental updates and report to manager.
- Conduct legal research and other ad hoc tasks as required.
Required Skills and Experience
- Legal Skills and Experience: Law degree.
- 1+ years’ experience (in-house or in practice).
- Experience using version control, track changes and comments in Word documents during contract negotiations. Experience with software licensing agreements is a plus.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to navigate a myriad of work items in multiple jurisdictions at a fast pace.
- A common-sense approach, self-starter with initiative, integrity and focus.
- Ability to liaise across a diverse range of people and cultures on complex matters.
- Strong written and organisational skills with an eye for detail. Numerical skills are also key in communicating legal risks to manager and contract assurance team in regular reports.
- The ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
- Advanced skills in MS PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and Excel. Experience with SharePoint and Confluence is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and organise work priorities to meet deadlines.
- Desire to go above and beyond to facilitate success, legal compliance and organisation.
- German and English language speaking, reading and writing, and any other additional languages also desirable, but not essential.
