Ops Engineer

About The Role
Nopex is an AI-agent-native platform for software delivery: teams of specialised AI agents plan, build, test, deploy, and operate software for our customers. For that to work, the platform behind it has to run around the clock. As an Ops Engineer, that's your job. Lots of ops, a bit of development: you keep our systems stable, secure, and fast, automate away the repetitive work, and write code where it makes operations better. And when something breaks at night, you're the on-call person who notices – and usually the one who gets it running again. AI-native means you work with AI agents every day. They analyse incidents, propose root causes and fixes, and handle the legwork – you review, decide, and sign off. Your responsibilities
• Run the Nopex platform: deployments, scaling, updates, and security – for our own systems and our customers' workloads
• On-call: take alerts, narrow down and fix incidents, then remove the cause – so the same alert never fires twice
• Maintain our internal infrastructure: build and deployment pipelines, backups, upgrades
• Grow monitoring and alerting – alerts that mean something instead of noise
• Shepherd releases: rollouts, rollbacks, database migrations
• Keep an eye on cost and capacity
• Automate where it hurts: scripts, pipelines, small tools, and targeted fixes in the code
• Work with AI agents: let them pre-analyse incidents, maintain runbooks for agents, and review their proposals critically What you bring
• 3+ years running production systems – as an ops, SRE, DevOps, or platform engineer
• Confident with containers and container orchestration in production
• Solid Linux and networking fundamentals (DNS, TLS, load balancers)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Enough of a developer to write scripts and make small fixes in a TypeScript codebase
• Willingness to be on call – and calm when something is on fire at 3 a.m.
• You already use AI agents in your ops work – and know where not to trust them blindly
• Good German and English Nice to have
• Experience with cloud providers and infrastructure as code
• Running databases: backups, restores, performance
• Observability: metrics, logs, traces
• Experience with LLM APIs or agent systems
