About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Generative AI/Agentic AI Engineer to join our dynamic team in Ulm. This role involves designing, developing, and deploying cutting-edge generative AI solutions, including chatbots and autonomous agents, to enhance our military systems and software development processes. As part of our international GenAI team, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our AI roadmap by creating innovative, secure, and scalable AI services that adhere to strict security and compliance standards. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a university degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field, complemented by at least 10 years of professional experience, with a minimum of 3-4 years dedicated to AI projects. Demonstrable expertise in developing large language model applications, chatbots, and intelligent agents is essential. Proficiency in Python programming and hands-on experience with inference frameworks such as vLLM and SGLang, as well as knowledge of vector databases like Qdrant and Chroma, are required. Candidates should have a solid understanding of containerization and orchestration tools, including Docker and Kubernetes, especially within secure on-premise environments. Fluency in both German and English, written and spoken, is mandatory. Additional advantageous skills include experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation architectures, MCP, CI/CD pipelines, logging and monitoring tools, AI cybersecurity, and LLM evaluation frameworks. Willingness to undertake occasional business trips is also expected. Responsibilities
• Design, implement, and test scalable generative AI services, including chatbots and autonomous agents, utilizing modern frameworks and best practices.
• Deploy and maintain large language model infrastructures within secure on-premise environments, optimizing performance and managing resources effectively using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Develop and refine Retrieval-Augmented Generation pipelines to connect internal knowledge bases, ensuring secure and standardized interfaces through MCP tools.
• Ensure all AI solutions comply with Airbus Defence and Space's rigorous security and compliance policies, maintaining high standards of data integrity and confidentiality.
• Provide technical support to internal teams, troubleshoot issues, and produce comprehensive documentation and best practices to facilitate ongoing development and maintenance.
• Contribute to the technical roadmap by creating proof-of-concept demonstrations for emerging AI use cases, fostering innovation within the organization. Benefits
