Project Manager BESS – Europe
Position Summary
The Project Manager BESS is responsible for supporting the successful delivery of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across Europe. The role coordinates project execution activities from contract review and installation through testing, commissioning, and handover, ensuring compliance with technical requirements, quality standards, project schedules, and contractual obligations.
Operating as an Individual Contributor within the Technical Europe organisation, the role serves as a key coordination point between internal technical teams, customers, EPCs, contractors, factories, and logistics stakeholders to support successful project delivery throughout the project lifecycle.

Major Responsibilities
Project Execution & Site Coordination
Coordinate the on-site execution of BESS projects across Europe.
Oversee installation activities and ensure compliance with approved project plans, schedules, and technical requirements.
Monitor project progress and escalate risks, delays, technical issues, or quality concerns where appropriate.
Support project delivery by coordinating internal and external stakeholders throughout the execution phase.
Technical Oversight
Act as the primary technical coordination point on-site during installation and commissioning activities.
Verify implementation of approved electrical designs, technical specifications, and system requirements.
Review and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, system layouts, and technical documentation.
Support the resolution of technical issues arising during installation and commissioning.
Contractor & Stakeholder Management
Supervise installation contractors and subcontractors on project sites.
Ensure compliance with technical standards, quality requirements, and safety regulations.
Coordinate activities between customers, EPCs, contractors, Technical Service teams, and Presales teams.
Facilitate communication and alignment across project stakeholders.
Contract Review & Alignment
Review project contracts and ensure understanding of key technical, commercial, delivery, and testing requirements.
Translate contractual requirements into actionable project activities and stakeholder responsibilities.
Monitor compliance with contractual deliverables, milestones, FAT, SAT, commissioning, and handover requirements.
Commissioning & Handover Support
Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, troubleshooting, and acceptance activities.
Coordinate with Technical Service teams and project stakeholders throughout commissioning and handover.
Ensure project documentation is complete, maintained, and transferred appropriately.
Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement activities.
Quality, Compliance & Safety
Monitor compliance with applicable technical, electrical, and safety regulations.
Ensure installation quality, adherence to company standards, and successful completion of contractual testing requirements, including FAT validation prior to shipment.
Coordinate with factory, logistics, and project stakeholders to support compliant testing, shipment, and project delivery activities.
Document project progress, observations, deviations, corrective actions, and site reports.
Promote safe working practices across all project sites.
Performance Indicators

Installation quality and reduction of rework or technical deviations
Timely resolution of technical and project-related issues
Compliance with safety, quality, and technical standards

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or technical qualification in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Energy Systems, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
Typically2-6 years of experience in project execution, site coordination, installation management, commissioning, or technical project delivery within the energy sector.
Practical experience supporting BESS, ESS, PV, power infrastructure, substation, or electrical installation projects.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
Experience working with contractors, EPC companies, or site-based project environments.
Professional working proficiency in English (C1).
Additional European languages are an advantage.
