Job Highlights Consulting, transparency and support of the Innovation Excellence and the R&D Community within LANXESS regarding AI tools and possibilities Generating AI use cases, including process overview, potential value, and potential technological approach Managing the AI use case pipeline, and working with the Innovation Excellence team and the R&D Community to ensure that the sum of Use Cases amounts to a robust landscape supporting an AI enabled / AI accelerated Innovation and R&D within LANXESS Documenting and prioritizing the AI use cases within the AI working group together with the IT colleagues Supporting AI Literacy and AI Citizen Development where relevant Experience / Skills Degree in Chemistry (or a closely related scientific field) with practical lab or chemical industry experience; alternatively, a strong background in Physics Proven experience within R&D and innovation cycles in the chemical industry, with the ability to speak the “language of researchers” Fluent German and English language skills are required Additional experience in consulting, business analysis, or interface management between R&D and IT is considered a strong asset Solid understanding of modern AI technologies (e.g., GenAI, Machine Learning, Machine Vision) and their potential to create tangible value in scientific research Ability to operationalize use cases through structured requirements gathering (e.g., interviews, workshops) and systematic prioritization of digital initiatives Strong translation and communication skills, with the ability to bridge complex AI concepts and domain-specific scientific requirements High digital affinity and curiosity, combined with a hands-on mindset to test, adopt, and experiment with emerging digital tools Experience working at the interface of R&D, IT and business stakeholders, driving collaboration across functions Contract Type Regular Who we are If the chemistry is right, we can make a difference at LANXESS speed up sports, make beverages last longer, add more color to leisure time and much more.
