Manager, Electrical Engineering

As the Electrical Engineering Manager (m/f/d), you will be the Electrical subject matter expert within NTT Global Data Center's (GDC) Central Engineering team within the DACH region. This is a people management role and you will be responsible for ensuring that the electrical systems are operating correctly within your region, within their design, and are optimised to ensure highest levels of efficiency and reliability. You will ensure all best practises and standards are delivered, and work with the Critical Facilities Management teams to ensure any issues are quickly resolved to minimise operational impact. As part of the role, you will authorise and deploy a set of Electrical Safety Rules for use across NTT GDC's estate. You will use your excellent organisational and people leadership skills to ensure services are delivered to the highest standard. What you will doProvide regular reporting internal and externally by attending regular meetings with the regional teams to discuss electrical systems performance and address any issues and concerns relating to systems condition, and operational activities and report accordinglyDevelop realistic plans, set goals, align plans with Tech Ops objectives and co-ordinate with other team membersBe overall technical authority for all of NTT's datacentre supporting electrical infrastructureProvide 2nd/3rd level escalation for electrical/controls issuesProvide SOP/EOP development including sign off of any electrical SOP/EOP draftsProvide mitigation to remove (where possible) majority of "Human Error" aspects from all electrical operations, whether it be physical optimisation to equipment, robust technical training, or clear procedure documentationOptimise maintenance offerings to ensure all manufacturers and best practises are followedEnsure technical excellence on all electrical systems and ensure all engineering best practices are being followedAttend and contribute to post handover reviews/lessons learned and share findings with NTT GDC EMEA Tech Ops team as requiredTake ownership of any key electrical issues and push progression, and as part of this, ensure ticketing system is up to dateWhat we are looking forExtensive electrical engineering, maintenance and commissioning experience in Data Centre or other mission critical sector is essentialYou will have detailed technical knowledge of the type of large-scale electrical systems installed at NTT's facilities, including HV, LV, UPS, Standby power and related electrical systems, and BMS/EMS and controls systems, with a demonstrated understanding of various redundancy topologies of such infrastructureAwareness and experience of RCA frameworks and ability to complete themGood knowledge of regulatory compliance and health and safety within the data center environmentProficient in German and English - written and verbalHave the ability to break down problems into smaller components, understand underlying issues, simplify, process complex issues and escalate when requiredZero downtime mentality and experience within these areasYou must have excellent communication skills, both verbally and written with the ability to produce technical reports to a professional qualityExcellent organisation with strong time management skillsAn Engineering based Degree/MSc or equivalent experience/qualification is essentialUndergo full security/background checksWhat we offer you An agile company culture with short decision-making paths and plenty of opportunities to show personal initiative Flexible working time models and mobile working (depending on your role) Allowance for the use of public transport and job bikes Allowance for the use of health and wellness Individual training and development opportunities Numerous other additional benefits such as birthday vouchers, employee advisory program, employee referral scheme, lunch allowance, company events, etc.Note: Please submit your application in English.We look forward to hearing from youAbout the Global Data Centers division of NTT DATANTT Global Data Centers is ranked as one of the top three leaders worldwide by IDC in their Colocation and Interconnection Services MarketScape, spanning more than 20 countries and regions including North America, Europe, Africa, India and APAC.
