Future aircraft electronics is being forced to reduce weight and improve failure diagnostics. The primary power supply of an electronics device might provide relevant capabilities to support weight reduction by optimizing the efficiency of a primary power supply and integrating monitoring functions within a dedicated processing unit.AufgabenObjective:The objective of the Master Thesis is to establish a concept for a future smart embedded primary power supply including applicable control and monitoring logics and validate the concept with bread board or evaluation boards.Detailed work packages of the master thesis:Definition of key requirements for a primary power supply regarding input voltage conditions (derived from DO-160 G regulations), secondary supply including load variations, targeted buck converter efficiency and all monitoring and protections featuresDevelopment of different smart primary power supply concepts including the definition of evaluation criteria (e.g. efficiency, weight, scalability, monitoring capability)Validation of the most promising concept via dedicated lab demonstratorsSummary of validation activities including documentation of the most promising conceptsApplicable Standards (which will be used and experience established):- DO256 Airborne HW development standards including component management plan- DO-160G Airborne Qualification StandardsProfilOngoing studies in in the field of electrical engineering or aerospace/space technicPrinciple electronics design knowledge including experience in electrical circuit simulationsKnowledge regarding galvanic isolated power supply designs [e.g. flyback converter]Experience in VHDL programmingStructured, collaborative and responsible way of workingVery good knowledge of written and spoken English (B2 level or higher)Wir bietenAttractive salaryCentral location at Hirschgarten with excellent public transport connectionsFlexible time managementJBTE_DE
