A leading global financial institution is seeking a seasoned Compliance professional to join its second line of defense team. This role sits within a dynamic compliance function that supports control, finance, and operational divisions across the firm. The team spans multiple global locations and is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating compliance, regulatory, and reputational risks. Key Responsibilities: Provide compliance oversight for German Custody Operations and related regulatory obligations. Advise and challenge control and operating functions on regulatory requirements and reputational risks. Conduct second-line risk assessments and forensic reviews to ensure adherence to custody rules. Support regulatory audits, examinations, and inquiries, including briefing senior stakeholders. Analyze regulatory developments and enforcement trends to assess business impact. Draft and implement policies, procedures, and training programs. Investigate conduct-related issues and escalate as needed. Collaborate with global compliance teams on cross-regional initiatives and projects. Ideal Candidate Profile: Minimum 5 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or control functions. Strong understanding of German and Luxembourg custody regulations and legal frameworks. Experience with regulatory interactions or audit support. Familiarity with securities and derivatives operations and European market infrastructure. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and educate stakeholders. Analytical mindset with comfort in working with data and technology. Strong judgment, integrity, and ability to challenge constructively. Organized and capable of managing both strategic projects and time-sensitive escalations.
