JavaScript Engineer

Your mission

As part of an Agile development team on site in our Hamburg office, we're looking for a product-aware engineer who can take ownership of projects, drive technical decisions, and support the growth of the team by sharing knowledge and best practices.

Your main focus is to build a large, highly user interactive web application that is easy to scale, extend, and all modular in a responsive environment. This includes developing our new e-commerce storefront and all its user-facing interfaces that is built on a microservice-based architecture.

We use modern technologies such as Docker, , TypeScript / modern JavaScript, React & Redux, and Jest.

Your profile

We're looking for a product-aware engineer, who loves to write code that's DRY, understandable, and easy to maintain by your colleagues, as well as values User Experience.
Solid experience in shipping large scale web applications in JavaScript / TypeScriptProject experience using (client-server communication)Experience in React as the main library you'll work withSolid to expert front-end knowledge, including HTML and CSSExperience working with GitFamiliar with unit and integration testing (Testing Library, Cypress)Proven leadership skills, with experience mentoring developers, driving technical discussions, and fostering a collaborative development environment.Interest in AI-assisted development, like crafting effective prompts for tools like GitHub Copilot or ChatGPT to speed up coding, testing, and documentation workflows.Nice to have
A keen interest in current web trends, standards and front-end frameworksPassionate about clean code and Test Driven Development (TDD)Experience with other modern front-end frameworks such as Vue, SolidJS or SvelteFamiliar with continuous integration (e.g. GitHub Actions, CircleCI, Jenkins) and tools like DockerKnowledge about front-end tooling (e.g. webpack, Babel, PostCSS, CSS preprocessors)Attention to detail to debug, reiterate and improve your code on different platformsCuriosity about AI prompting to explore new ways of coding, debugging, and automating repetitive development tasks.
