Main Purpose:
This position offers a long-term and rewarding opportunity to join a dedicated inspection team operating within a piping prefabrication yard in Dortmund. As an NDT Technician, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality non-destructive testing services on prefabricated pipe spools, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
Candidates must be prepared to undertake an intensive 3 week training course in the equipment operation, data acquisition, and data analysis procedures and pass an independent practical trial qualification exam in all aspects prior to deployment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform NDT inspections using Auto UT on prefabricated pipe spools.
- Accurately interpret and report inspection results in line with applicable procedures and acceptance criteria.
- Conduct and record daily equipment checks to ensure functionality and compliance.
- Follow all internal and site-specific health, safety, environmental, and quality (HSEQ) protocols.
- Carry out point-of-work risk assessments to maintain a safe working environment.
- Provide support and mentorship to apprentices and junior technicians.
- Maintain clear and concise inspection record QA sheets.
Experience & Qualifications:
Essential:
- NDT certifications PCN Level 2/3 or equivalent ISO 9712 certification in Ultrasonics (UT), TOFD and Phased Array (PA),
- Computerised / AUT scanning & data analysis
- Experience in NDT inspection of prefabricated piping systems or similar fabrication environments.
- Good English
Desirable:
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- Proficiency in Ultravision Software
