EMEA Media Director

We Are Social is looking for a Media Director (f/m/d) based in Munich or Berlin, o lead their growing media department across EMEA. This role will oversee media business in key EMEA markets including the UK, the UAE and Germany. This position will be connected to our regional business, with the aim of leading a high performance media team and delivering exceptional outcomes for our key clients in the region.

We are looking for someone with hands-on, full funnel media experience who can lead a team of media specialists, act as a trusted strategic advisor to clients and consult with other internal departments, while overseeing campaign excellence to drive business value for clients and for We Are Social.
The Media Director will lead paid media strategy and support execution across channels, primarily on social, but also paid search, video, display and other forms of online and offline paid media. This skilled professional is expected to participate in new business development and pitch presentations, as well as own thought-leadership for their markets.
This role is client facing and will work closely with all teams and departments inside the agency, connecting media with the rest of the business, and elevating the strategic role of media within a creative agency.
Requirements
Your Responsibilities- Full-funnel, integrated creative + media strategies and cross-channel media plans that drive a range of business outcomes.
- Building strong relationships with top clients and nurturing long standing strategic partnerships.
- Establishing media excellence across the team through development, training and coaching.
- Driving a culture of innovation and experimentation, encouraging exploration of new platforms, technologies, and media channels, to proactively identify new opportunities that can be used to improve strategy and effectiveness.
- Supervise and support the implementation of media campaigns using industry best practices.
- Identifying and implementing effective ways of working within your team and across departments and clients.
- Build relationships with publishers and vendors to implement the latest ad products and services for your clients.
- Develop and lead departmental initiatives, collaborating on the strategic development and advancement of the paid media service and vision, and helping to evolve our offering.
- Cultivate thought leadership through articles, award entries, blogs, case studies and events.
- Working closely with the finance team to manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting related to media activities.
- 6-8 years working within paid media, with strong knowledge of the paid media landscape across channels, objectives and trends.
- Extensive, hands-on experience planning and executing multi-objective, multi-channel media, with a proficiency in both brand building and direct-response campaigns.
- Adept at managing and optimising multi-million dollar budgets towards business goals like brand lift, ROI and more.
- Deep expertise across social platforms including Meta, TikTok, Linkedin, Pinterest and Reddit.
- A passionate approach to leadership that motivates the team around you. Experience leading and developing a team.
- Strategic acumen and confidence building business proposals from scratch, with a demonstrable track record in achieving and exceeding KPI's
- Independent worker who can own and manage relationships and projects confidently. Collaborative leader that can work cross-functionally to ensure a connected approach.
- Advanced knowledge of digital measurement and analytics and a proven competency in leveraging data and the latest technologies to inform planning and optimization that delivers on business outcomes and fuels future investment.
