Senior Back End Engineer
Location: Munich (80% Remote)
Our client is seeking a Senior Back End Engineer to join their team. In this role you will design and develop high-quality backend services, lead API and microservices architecture efforts, and take part in operational responsibilities including deployment, monitoring, and support. You'll contribute to technical decisions, guide junior developers, and promote coding standards and best practices.

- Deploy and manage containerized apps on Kubernetes (cloud and on-premise).
- Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex performance and availability issues.
- Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and maintain code quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on planning and integration.
- Maintain technical documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Apply security best practices and address vulnerabilities.
- Mentor junior developers and support their technical growth.
- Drive improvements in system reliability, performance, and workflows.
Requirements:
- Degree in computer science, software engineering, mathematics, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of backend development experience.
- Deep expertise in and backend architecture.
- Proficiency with tools such as , , Docker, Kubernetes, Cloud platforms, Git, Linux, JIRA.
- Experience with authentication and access protocols (OAuth2, OIDC).
- Strong problem-solving skills and performance optimisation experience.
- Clear communicator, able to explain technical topics to varied audiences.
- Self-motivated, reliable, and capable of working independently.
