We are inviting applications for a postdoctoral researcher position in the field of data science and bioinformatics, for data management and analysis in the Cluster4Future PROXIDRUGS ) project InnoDATA

The Cluster4Future PROXIDRUGS aims to develop innovative therapies for human diseases by targeted degradation of disease-relevant proteins within cells. The cluster pools the expertise of several local universities, scientific institutes, and major pharma companies. Within PROXIDRUGS, the InnoDATA project is dedicated to the development of predictive tools utilizing machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI), and to establish FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable) data management solutions related to proximity-inducing drugs.

The project is a close collaboration between Goethe University and the Fraunhofer Institute of Translational Medicine and Pharmacology ITMP in Frankfurt and Hamburg. The position will be based in Frankfurt am Main at the Institute of Clinical Pharmacology of Goethe University.

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the position include the management and continuous enrichment of resources and databases within PROXIDRUGS, the integration and analysis of multimodal biological or chemical datasets, the development of in-silico tools for virtual screening and the development of AI/ML models to explore bioactivity, ADME/T or PK/PD of pharmacologically active compounds.

The position is limited to 2 years.

For this position, we are seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious candidate with a PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics or related discipline, or a PhD in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology or similar, with extensive experience and expertise in data science and computational biology. The candidate should enjoy working in a multidisciplinary team. Proficiency in English is required, German would be a plus.

The candidate should have programming skills (Python, R), an ability to integrate data from different sources, to perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) and visualize datasets, experience in AI/ML-driven analysis and proficiency in code management and version control (Git). Familiarity with ontologies, knowledge graphs or network algorithms, and experience with FAIR principles or dashboard deployment would be advantageous but are not required.

Due to legal regulations, valid proof of measles immunity / measles vaccination is required.
