Fromstart-up to scale-up: we'retacklingittogether
CMBlu Energy is developing from a start-up focussing on research into a manufacturing scale-up that is on its way to series production. Around 240 employees are working towards this goal at CMBlu Energy. Our head office is in Alzenau near Frankfurt, with a branch office in Obernburg. There are also subsidiaries in Athens, Greece and Petaluma, USA.
Your Tasks:
- Customer acquisition: Build and execute a structured prospecting and outreach plan to win new customers across the EU, from first contact to signed contract.
- Consultative Solution Selling: Lead technical and commercial discovery to translate customer needs into a clear solution scope, value proposition, and business case for energy storage applications.
- Opportunity & Pipeline Management: Own your pipeline end-to-end (qualification, stakeholder mapping, decision process, competitive positioning), ensuring forecast accuracy and disciplined CRM hygiene.
- Tendering & Bid Leadership: Drive RFIs/RFQs/tenders—coordinate technical inputs, commercial terms, risk positioning, and compliance requirements
- Cross-functional Deal Execution: Align Engineering, Product, Project Management, Legal, and Finance to deliver high-quality proposals (scope, schedule, pricing, cash plan, risk/assumptions) and smooth handover after signature.
- Negotiation & Closing: Lead negotiations on scope, performance expectations, warranty/service concepts, delivery model, and contract terms—closing deals while protecting margin and manageable project risk.
Your Profile:
- Experience: Mid to senior B2B sales track record selling complex technical solutions or products (energy, infrastructure, industrial, renewables, grid) with measurable new-business wins.
- Battery & Storage Background: Strong technical understanding of batteries/energy storage systems and typical project interfaces (applications, system integration, commissioning, operations concepts).
- Utility / EPC Advantage: Experience with utility customers and/or EPC delivery models is beneficial (tender processes, risk allocation, scope clarity, contract structures).
- Commercial Strength: Skilled in value-based selling, structuring offers, pricing logic, and negotiating contracts with multiple stakeholders and long sales cycles.
- Execution & Stakeholders: Highly organized, resilient "hunter" mindset; confident driving cross-functional teams and managing complex decision-making networks.
- Languages: Fluent in German and English (written and spoken)
