M&A Research & Data Analyst - Vesta Software Group UK

As an
M&A Research & Data Analyst
, you will play a vital role in identifying and evaluating acquisition opportunities, conducting in-depth market research, and supporting the overall M&A process. This position offers a unique chance to gain hands-on experience in software acquisitions, working closely with industry experts.

Key Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities (80%+)

• Acquisition Target Analysis: Evaluate potential acquisition targets using our investment criteria.
• Carve-Out Identification: Assess corporations to identify viable carve-out opportunities.
• Big Data Management: Maintain and oversee data integrity within our CRM, ensuring accuracy of KPIs and dashboards.
• Market Research: Conduct detailed market analysis on new verticals and geographies to support expansion efforts.
• M&A Advisor Mapping: Identify and map relevant software M&A advisors, from global firms to boutique consultancies.
• Data Source Evaluation: Research and assess third-party data sources, industry lists, and trade conferences.

Secondary Responsibilities (Less than 20%)

• Transaction Support: Assist in due diligence processes, including market analysis, contract review, and competitor research.
• Ad Hoc Research Projects: Support Business Development Executives and Group Leaders with specialized research initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills
Required:

• Bachelor's degree in business, Economics, Finance, or Engineering.
• Fluency in English and German.
• Experience in Research and/or Financial Services is preferred.

Preferred Attributes:

• Strong analytical mindset and intellectual curiosity.
• Interest in the software and technology sectors.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to manipulate data from multiple sources.
• Solid understanding of research methodologies and M&A origination processes.
