Your responsibilities

We are looking for a person who specialises in educational psychology with a focus on science communication and science education. In addition to the establishment of new, efficient structures in the areas of research, teaching, transfer and administration, the focus will be on two promising research topics, "BrightBrain" and "ReSpace", which result from synergies between the established core research areas "Engineering for Health"; "Metrology"; "City of the Future" and "Mobility". Specifically, the professorship will establish a Science Communication Hub, which will provide fundamental support for the BrightBrain and ReSpace topic areas in evidence-based science communication, in addition to its own excellent research. In addition, the professorship will establish a focus on "science education" and thus systematically position itself in the professionalisation of teachers.

The successful candidate (f/m/d) is expected to be committed to the university's strategic goals and to actively shape its holistic development (

). In addition to the classic service areas of a university (research, teaching and studies, transfer, governance and administration), this applies in particular to digitalisation, internationalisation, equality and diversity, as well as knowledge exchange.

  • Promotion of employees in the qualification phases

Requirements, § 25 NHG

  • A degree in a relevant field
  • Pedagogical aptitude
  • Special qualification for in-depth independent scientific work, as a rule proven by an above-average doctorate
