Scientific Coordinator (m/f/d)
The position is initially available for the duration of 3 years with the possibility for extension to 7 years at the Faculty of Psychology and Sports Science. The salary is in accordance with the collective labour agreement of the State of Hessen (E 13 TV-H).
In the context of Germany's top-tier funding initiative, a new Cluster of Excellence The Adaptive Mind (TAM, EXC 3066) is being established at the universities of Giessen, Marburg and Darmstadt in collaboration with the University of Frankfurt and the Frankfurt Institute of Advanced Studies (FIAS).
In The Adaptive Mind, we combine state-of-the-art behavioral and neurophysiological research with approaches from psychiatry and clinical psychology, as well as quantitative analyses and computational modeling using artificial intelligence, machine learning and robotics. Our goal is to measure and model the continuous adaptation of natural human behavior in a constantly changing and unpredictable world. Further details on the cluster project can be found here:

Your tasks at a glance
As scientific coordinator, you will be a central hub for the scientific, organizational, and administrative activities of The Adaptive Mind. You will work closely with the cluster's spokespersons, the steering committee, and participating researchers to ensure the smooth implementation of the research agenda and long-term strategic goals.
Your responsibilities will include:
Acting as an interface between researchers, university administration, financial managers, funding bodies, and external partners
Facilitating communication and collaboration among the cluster and the broader research community
Coordinating and supporting the scientific activities of the cluster
Supporting the implementation of the clusters research and development strategy
Organizing regular meetings within the cluster, as well as scientific colloquia, workshops, and conferences
Updating and maintaining the website of the cluster
Preparing reports and strategic documents
Your qualifications and competences
A completed Master´s or equivalent university degree and a doctoral degree (PhD/Dr.), preferably related to the topics of the Excellence Cluster
Experience in research management, coordination, or science administration (experience in large-scale projects is desirable)
Experience in international collaboration
Strong organizational and project management skills
Excellent communication skills (written and spoken) in English; proficiency in German is required
Ability to work independently, proactively, and as part of a team
High motivation to contribute to the success of a dynamic, interdisciplinary research environment
