Become a part of the ENERTRAG team at our location in Berlin or Brussels as (Senior) Manager Policy & Advocacy PtX (m/f/d) and let's advance the energy transition together.

As (Senior) Manager Policy & Advocacy PtX(m/f/d), you will be ENERTRAG's key representative in Europe. You will engage with institutions, associations, and stakeholders to advocate for political frameworks that accelerate the energy transition and support the market growth of PtX technologies. With your deep knowledge of EU policy and energy markets, you will play a central role in shaping a sustainable hydrogen economy in Europe.

Job Description
  • Develop strategies to strengthen the role of PtX and promote a sustainable hydrogen economy at the European level.
  • Engage proactively with policymakers, regulators, and associations, representing ENERTRAG's interests in meetings, consultations, and conferences.
  • Monitor and analyze ongoing and upcoming EU initiatives, regulations, and directives in the areas of energy, sustainability, and innovation.
  • Prepare position papers, policy briefs, and recommendations to support the implementation of relevant EU regulations (e.g., RFNBO).
  • Collaborate with partners, associations, and stakeholders to coordinate common policy goals for the PtX sector.
  • Track EU legislation related to energy, hydrogen, and innovation, and provide strategic recommendations to ENERTRAG.
  • Work in close cooperation with internal departments such as Business Development, Legal, Communications, and Sales to ensure that political and business priorities are seamlessly aligned
Qualifications
  • Master's degree or equivalent in political science, law, engineering, or a related field
  • At least 5–7 years of experience in policy, regulatory affairs, or public affairs—ideally in energy, sustainability, or clean technologies
  • Excellent knowledge of European energy and climate policy (e.g., Green Deal, Fit for 55) and the ability to assess political developments confidently
  • Strong understanding of PtX technologies and their role in decarbonization
  • Proven analytical, strategic, and communication skills, with the ability to operate effectively in international networks
  • Fluent in English; good knowledge of German is desirable, and basic French is an advantage
