MacGregor is a global company that operates in 30 countries with 2000 employees. We provide sustainable cargo and load handling with a strong portfolio of products, services, and solutions to the maritime and offshore industries. Our solutions are found in over half of the world's merchant fleet.

We believe MacGregor is a great place to work and we are looking for innovators with an international mindset to join our team and help us create lifetime value for our customers.

MacGregor – Let's shape the future together

Do you have a strong technical background in the maritime industry and a passion for enabling others to succeed? MacGregor is now looking for a Technical Trainer with broad competence across merchant products, such as Hatch Covers, Steering Gears and/or Self-unloader, to strengthen our Global Services Division.

In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring that our internal service engineers and external customers have the competence needed to operate, maintain and service MacGregor equipment safely and efficiently. You will combine solid technical expertise with modern learning methods to create engaging, practical and effective training programs.

More tasks and responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver high-quality technical training programs for internal service personnel and external customers, utilizing modern instructional methods for both on-site and remote sessions.
  • Produce, maintain, and continuously improve all training materials (manuals, presentations, digital learning content). Ensure that content consistently reflects the latest developments in relevant merchant products, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with digital learning and training specialists to design engaging and effective solutions, including simulations and blended learning formats.
  • Perform qualification and competence assessments of service personnel in line with internal processes and regulatory requirements, ensuring accurate maintenance of certification records.
  • Contribute to the development of training delivery strategies and support the implementation of MacGregor Academy initiatives. This includes supporting and maintaining the accreditation of local frontline trainers.
What you'll need to succeed

You are motivated by sharing knowledge, building competence and working in an international, technically advanced environment. You thrive in a role that combines structure, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Ideally, you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the maritime or shipbuilding industry
  • Experience from field service or hands-on technical roles (strong advantage)
  • Solid understanding of one or more MacGregor merchant product areas (Hatch Covers, Steering Gears, Self-unloaders or similar)
  • Practical knowledge of mechanics and/or hydraulics
  • Familiarity with classification society requirements, service processes and technical documentation standards
  • Ability to plan, facilitate and complete training sessions effectively
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and accessible learning content for diverse audiences
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a global team
  • Experience with training tools, LMS platforms or digital learning solutions is an advantage
  • Fluent English, written and spoken

The position reports to the Senior Manager, Training and can be based in one of MacGregor's major Global Services locations in Europe, such as Hamburg, Gothenburg, Kaarina or Gdansk, or another suitable MacGregor location depending on the candidate's profile.
