About the Role

As Senior Accountant, you take on the technical and organizational lead of the accounting function and act as the central interface between Accounting, Controlling and external partners. You work hands-on across all areas of accounting, drive process optimization, and actively apply your technical expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

Strategic Core Expectation

In addition to operational responsibility, this role works directly with the CFO and serves as a sparring partner in financial strategy topics, especially related to accounting optimization and continuous improvement. We are therefore looking for someone with a strong managerial mindset — proactive, execution-oriented and confident in getting things done — rather than a reserved senior accountant profile focused only on transactional activities.

Technical and Organizational Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop the accounting team (Accountants, Working Students)
• Responsibility for financial accounting (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Banking)
• Ensure efficient accounting processes and on-time monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with HGB
• Act as the main point of contact for auditors, tax advisors, and internal business departments

Operational "Hands-On" Activities:

• Contribution to ongoing accounting and closing processes
• Posting of complex business transactions (e.g., provisions, accruals, intercompany transactions)
• Responsibility for account reconciliation, intercompany reconciliation, and general ledger maintenance
• Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cashflow)
• Responsibility for group-wide reporting including IC reporting (currently performed by HRS)
• Support in preparing tax returns and VAT declarations

• Completed business degree or commercial training with focus on Accounting
• Several years of professional experience in Accounting, ideally with leadership experience
• Strong knowledge of HGB accounting, financial statement preparation, and cashflow management
• Excellent knowledge of Business Central 365 or a comparable ERP system
• High IT affinity, structured and proactive working style
• Strong communication skills, teamwork orientation, and solution-focused mindset
