We're hiring: Backend Developer
(PHP + Laravel) – full-time in Berlin or Bremen
At ito ito, we develop cutting-edge software to modernize fashion production. Our tools help brands move away from overproduction by enabling on-demand, localized manufacturing. We're turning the fashion supply chain digital — from design to production. To expand our tech team, we're looking for a Backend Developer with strong PHP + Laravel skills. You'll work on real-time configuration tools and help build powerful design interfaces for fashion professionals.

Responsibilities:
- Build a strong understanding of ito ito's problem domain
- Collaborate closely with frontend developers to develop and maintain features
- Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using Laravel framework
- Ensure APIs are secure by design
- Write clean, scalable, and well-documented PHP code following Laravel best practices
- Collaborate with the team in designing and managing a MySQL database schema
- Write and maintain unit and feature tests using PHPUnit
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science
- 3+ years with PHP + Laravel (or Python + Django — we encourage you to apply if you've only worked with Python + Django before)
- Strong understanding of SQL
- Strong understanding of API authentication methods and authoring secure applications
- Competence in Git
- Basic knowledge of Docker and experience with dev containers
- Knowledge of hosting Laravel (or Django) applications
- Familiarity using Scrum/Agile development methodologies
Experience with the following is a big plus:
- React + Typescript
- CICD (GitHub actions, GitLab CI, etc)
Salary expectations
Salary range between 45K and 54K, depending on your level of experience and skills.

based in
Berlin
or
Bremen
(hybrid work possible).
