TYTAN is a deep-tech defense startup on a mission to restore the economics of air defense through scalable, cost-effective, AI-powered autonomous systems. Our counter-drone solutions are protecting people and critical infrastructure in some of the world's most demanding environments.
We are an international, engineering-driven team working at the intersection of autonomy, operational deployment, and defense innovation — with active programs across Europe and Ukraine.
To support our rapid growth and increasing engagement with European governments, we are looking for a Government Affairs Manager to help shape the policy, regulatory, and procurement environment in which TYTAN operates.
As Senior Government Affairs Manager, you will be TYTAN's bridge to political, regulatory, and defense-institution stakeholders across Europe. You will work to ensure that TYTAN is positioned early and effectively in emerging EU and national cUAS initiatives, support leaders in their engagement with ministries and agencies, and help shape policy environments that accelerate adoption of autonomous defense technologies.
You will work closely with our Business Development, Product, and Engineering teams to connect operational reality, customer needs, and policy landscapes — ensuring TYTAN is not only reactive to programs, but actively shaping them.
- Proven experience in government affairs, public policy, or political advisory roles (public or private sector).
- Deep understanding of EU and/or national policy-making, defense procurement pathways, and regulatory processes.
- Strong political networks with evidence of successful relationship building and influence.
- Experience advising senior executives or decision-makers in high-stakes environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of producing concise, high-impact briefings.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple parallel work streams independently.
- Eligible and willing to obtain relevant security clearances.
- Willingness to travel (approx. 30–50%, across Europe).
- Experience in defense, security, aerospace, or emerging technology sectors.
- Experience supporting companies competing for government contracts.
- Existing networks within German, Ukrainian, Central/Eastern European, or EU institutions.
- Understanding of policy areas relevant to TYTAN's mission: defense innovation, UAV/drones, emerging tech regulation, border security.
- Background in political science, international relations, public policy, or STEM fields.
- Work on mission-critical problems with real impact on national and European security.
- Shape the government engagement strategy of one of Europe's fastest-growing defense tech companies.
- Be part of a diverse, ambitious, engineering-led team active across Germany and Ukraine.
- Participate in our success with a stock options package.
- Enjoy flexibility, autonomy, and a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment.
- Access to EGYM Wellpass for sports and wellness.
- Represent TYTAN's interests with EU institutions, national Ministries of Defence, Home Affairs, Digital/Technology ministries, and related agencies.
- Develop structured engagement plans for priority stakeholders in Germany, EU institutions (e.g., EDA, DG DEFIS), NATO, and selected partner nations.
- Advocate for policy and procurement frameworks that recognize and accelerate adoption of autonomous cUAS systems.
- Monitor and analyze political, regulatory, and budget developments across Europe relevant to air defense, border security, drones, and emerging technologies.
- Identify policy windows, upcoming initiatives, and early-stage multilateral programs relevant to TYTAN.
- Provide internal political risk assessments and strategic advice to senior leadership.
- Work closely with Business Development to align political engagement with market expansion and tender pipelines.
- Help position TYTAN early in multi-nation initiatives (e.g., "Drone Wall", Eastern Flank programs, EU defense accelerators).
- Support consortium building and strategic partnerships with primes, SMEs, and R&D institutions.
- Prepare briefing notes, talking points, and strategic materials for TYTAN leadership ahead of government engagements.
- Coordinate participation at key defense conferences, policy forums, and international events.
- Maintain consistent, high-quality communication with political, military, and regulatory stakeholders.
- Educate internal teams on political dynamics, procurement pathways, and upcoming regulatory requirements.
- Ensure tight alignment between field experience (including Ukraine operations), product roadmaps, and external engagement.
