facing to arrive at your destination. For 340 million visually impaired and blind people worldwide,

this is a reality.

SmartAIs is transforming orientation for blind and visually impaired people with advanced AI

technology. Our app uses computer vision, self-driving technologies, and multimodal AI to help

users independently find and understand their surroundings by identifying objects, entrances,

text, and orientation points with precise distance and direction. Whether outdoors or indoors, and

even when GPS becomes unreliable, SmartAIs guides users confidently to their destination.

Role Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated iOS Developer to join SmartAIs as an full-time

engineer. Fully remote positions are also possible. In this role, you will design, architect, and implement key features of our mobile app,

including the turn-by-turn conversational pipeline with our cloud-based
LLM
and voice

technologies such as
TTS
,
STT
, and
Voice Activity Detection (VAD)
. You will also manage core

cloud integrations, including
S3
storage,
EC2
services, and other backend components. As a core

contributor, you will help re-architect the app to support growing complexity, ensure high code

quality, and drive technical decisions that enhance performance, reliability, and the overall user

experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in iOS development.
  • Experience building conversational AI workflows (OpenAI, Gemini, ElevenLabs, etc) and LLM-based systems (function calling, structured outputs, MCP servers, etc.).
  • Extensive with Voice-based technologies such STT, TTS, VAD, speaker diarization
  • Experience working with cloud platforms, including AWS (S3, EC2) and Google

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve the conversation workflow with a cloud-based LLM
  • Develop, improve, and support voice features including TTS, STT, VAD, and related audio components.
  • Manage and optimize complex cloud pipelines and integrations across multiple APIs (storage, authentication, service orchestration).
  • Build and integrate new AI-executable functions and ensure seamless alignment with existing features.
  • Refactor and rearchitect the app's codebase to accommodate growing complexity and new functionality.
  • Ensure code quality through documentation, testing, and best Swift practices.
  • Handle bug fixing, performance optimization, and crash report analysis using Firebase and Crashlytics.
  • Collaborate closely with the core engineering and product teams to drive architectural decisions and feature prioritization.
  • Optimize the memory usage and cpu load of the app.
