Senior Full Stack Engineer

We are himala, an ambitious, early-stage AI startup on a mission to revolutionize how professionals prepare for their most important meetings. By leveraging the latest AI agentic methodologies, we provide intelligent insights and automated preparation tools that empower users to be more confident, informed, and successful. We are building a small, dynamic team of passionate builders who are excited to define a new category of software. We work in a hybrid setup, coming to the office 2-3 days a week with Monday & Friday always being Home Office.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for a versatile and experienced Senior Full Stack Engineer who is equally comfortable crafting exceptional, intuitive user interfaces with React and building robust, scalable backend services with , all in Typescript. You are a product-minded engineer who thrives on owning features end-to-end, from architectural design to deployment. Your expertise will be critical in shaping our core product, technology stack, and engineering culture as we grow.

Our current stack is Mastra + OpenSearch + + Fastify + Kysely + PostgreSQL + PGVector + gRPC/ConnectRPC + React + Tanstack Query & Router + Tailwind + RadixUI + AWS.

Your Area of Responsibility

• End-to-End Feature Development: Design, develop, and deploy high-quality features across the entire stack—from engineering user-centric interfaces in React to building high-performance backend services in , in Typescript, of course.
• Build and Scale Our Platform: Architect, maintain, and optimize our systems for performance and reliability. We have a strong engineering mindset but stay pragmatic and fast-paced - ask for forgiveness rather than permission.
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Go beyond ticket implementation and work proactively with Product, UX, and other engineers to define requirements, refine user experiences, and ensure seamless integration from concept to deployment. You need to play an active role in this.
• Engage in Knowledge Sharing: Actively participate in tech talks, architectural discussions, workflow documentation, and the exploration of modern technologies to foster a culture of continuous learning.Champion a Product-First Mindset: Contribute innovative ideas for leveraging AI to enhance our meeting prep solutions and create a truly intelligent user experience.

Must-Have Skills & Experience

• Full Stack Expertise: 4+ years of hands-on experience in software development, with significant expertise across both frontend and backend technologies.
• Frontend Mastery: Deep proficiency in and its core principles, along with mastery of Typescript, CSS, and HTML. Proven experience building responsive, high-quality web applications using Tailwind CSS and component libraries (ideally Radix UI).
• Backend Prowess: Minimum of 4+ years of professional experience with , with a comprehensive knowledge of software architecture and design patterns. Strong experience with developing efficient & robust API interfaces and proficiency in working with relational databases.
• Testing & Observability: Writing tests for critical parts of the software should be second nature to you.
• Startup Mentality: A "get things done" attitude with the ability to operate autonomously, address bugs, and enhance features with innovative solutions. You thrive in a dynamic, early-stage environment and demonstrate resilience and a hunger for growth.
• Collaboration & Communication: Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset. You value feedback, shared responsibilities, and clear communication.
