Your mission

As a Senior DevOps Engineer (m/f/x) at SysEleven, you ensure that our as-a-Service products – such as Database as a Service – run reliably and are operated in an automated way. You implement Infrastructure as Code and optimize CI/CD pipelines to guarantee scalable and secure infrastructures. Your work drives the innovation of our Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offerings and fosters collaboration within the team. Through automation and Kubernetes orchestration, you reduce operational effort and deliver dependable services that support our customers' success. You contribute to a culture of continuous learning and problem-solving to tackle complex challenges and shape the future of our services.

Your tasks
  • Design and maintenance of scalable infrastructures using IaC tools (Terraform) in cloud or on-premise environments  
  • Creation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines to automate testing and deployment strategies (e.g., Blue-Green, Canary)  
  • Development of automation scripts and internal tools in Go, Python, or Bash to optimize DevOps processes  
  • Management of container-based applications with Docker and Kubernetes, including Helm charts and network configurations  
  • Implementation of observability and automation of security vulnerability scans  
  • Creation and maintenance of technical documentation, as well as defining and implementing best practices for DevOps processes


Requirements
  • Experience with Linux operating systems and Kubernetes, as well as working with GitOps tools
  • Good knowledge of Go / Golang (experience in other programming languages like Python or Rust is a plus)
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or OpenTofu 
  • Familiarity with CI systems, especially GitLab CI  
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, as well as English language proficiency at C2 level and, ideally, German at B2 level.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana stack, as well as OS image building (e.g., VMs, bare metal, or container images)


What you can expect

At SysEleven, you take ownership of customer-facing services such as Database as a Service and Observability as a Service, which are seamlessly integrated into our cloud and Kubernetes products. You will be actively involved in the day-to-day operation and maintenance of these services, contribute to their ongoing development, and have the opportunity to bring your own ideas for new SaaS products as we continuously expand our portfolio.

You will work daily with Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools, directly contributing to the success of our customers. We place great value on collaboration, open communication, and knowledge sharing—whether in everyday teamwork, our internal "Show & Tell" sessions, or at external conferences.
