Overview

We are looking for a Quality Test Engineer for performance testing with a focus on SAP S/4HANA to perform load and performance tests as well as analyse and optimize system performance.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Planning and execution of load, stress, spike, and endurance tests based on prioritized transaction and user profiles
  • Programming and maintenance of test cases in LoadRunner Enterprise (version 25.1, on-premises)
  • Scripting for SAP GUI and web/HTTP/OData-based Fiori flows (TruClient for browser interactions, if necessary)
  • Correlation and parameterization, think times, robust troubleshooting
  • Test data strategy and data maintenance (synthetic or product-related, depending on the subproject)
  • Use and extension of existing test frameworks for SAP GUI and Fiori to reduce development times (e.g., additional correlation modules, modular components, reporting tables)
  • Performing comparative measurements on SAP R/3, including documentation of results and derivation of findings for S/4HANA
  • Monitoring and analysis with classic SAP tools (e.g., ST03N, ST12, ST05) and, if available, HANA and APM tools (e.g., Solution Manager)
  • Analysis of results, including identification of bottlenecks in applications, HANA, infrastructure, and operating systems
  • Derivation of tuning recommendations
  • Documentation of test strategy, load models, scripts, test data, execution plans, and reports
  • Transparent detailed lists, including reproduction steps and post-test planning
  • Creation of deliverable packages (e.g., scripts, configurations, reports) in accordance with internal standards
  • Technical support for specialist and IT teams in the respective streams
  • Compliance with agreed communication and reporting processes

Requirements

  • Proven experience in scripting and testing for SAP GUI and Fiori/OData, demonstrated by at least 1 year of experience
  • Ability to extend existing test frameworks (structured, maintainable script development), proven by at least 1 year of experience
  • At least 1 year of experience in identifying and analyzing bottlenecks in SAP/HANA/OS, including the reliable evaluation of SAP and APM traces (e.g., ST12/ST05)
  • Confident use of monitoring and tracing (ST03N, ST12, ST05, ideally HANA and, if applicable, Solution Manager), proven by at least 1 year of experience.

Nice to Have

  • At least 1 year of experience with SAP integration protocols (RFC/Idoc/OData)
  • Industry and module knowledge in S/4 processes (e.g., FI/CO, SD, MM, PP), proven by at least 1 year of experience
  • At least 1 year of experience with NeoLoad, including porting/mapping to LoadRunner Enterprise
  • At least 1 year of experience in scripting in C.
