Position Summary:

Discovery is looking for a talented and passionate Junior Project Manager to join our dynamic clinical trial team. As a Junior Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role discussing and consulting our customer's needs and managing these needs at our clinical trial laboratory in Kassel, Germany. You will take responsibility over the whole life span of multiple projects interacting with pharma, CROs, hospitals in a very appreciative international setting. Attitude, project and social responsibility are key for this position.

Position Qualifications (Education, Skills, Experience):

  • Master's Degree in molecular biology or similar 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills (English and German)
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments and resolve complex problems
  • Keen attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate internal resources and external partners for the flawless execution of projects
  • Ensure that projects are delivered on-time, within scope and budget as agreed with the customer
  • Main contact (internal and external) in regards to all project specific questions in the cause of a project, incl. preparation and realization of project meetings
  • Use of software applications to monitor project performance and manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs (Microsoft Office, Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software)
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Data management: Updating of projects in LIMS based database including product specifications, electronic workflows and data transfers in cooperation with IT. Updating of data transfer specifications with customer. Execution of data transfers to customer.
  • Invoicing (ensure the right items are booked and approval of invoices)
  • Establish and maintain relationships with existing customers / third parties (e-mail, conferencecalls and physical meetings)
  • Final project assessment (review of timelines and post calculation of budget, reasons for divergences, 'Lessons Learned' for future projects, reports)
  • Report and escalate to management on a regular basis and as needed
  • Support the project managers in set-up of proposals, ethics applications and other documents
  • Literature research
