Release Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled
Release Manager
to lead the integration and delivery of complex automotive systems. In this role, you will coordinate across multidisciplinary engineering teams to plan, manage, and execute software and system releases in alignment with customer and project milestones. The ideal candidate will have strong experience working with
German OEMs
, deep knowledge of
ASPICE processes
, and exceptional bilingual communication and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

Release Planning & Coordination

• Define and manage detailed release schedules, ensuring alignment with project milestones and OEM delivery expectations.
• Coordinate with hardware, software, systems engineering, validation, and manufacturing teams for seamless integration and delivery.
• Track release readiness and manage dependencies across multiple teams.

Stakeholder Management

• Serve as the key liaison between OEMs (VW, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Stellantis), suppliers, and internal teams.
• Communicate release plans, risks, and mitigation strategies effectively to all stakeholders.
• Maintain transparency and traceability for all release activities and decisions.

Agile & Process Leadership

• Co-lead Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Stand-ups, Reviews, Retrospectives) alongside the Scrum Master.
• Ensure sprint objectives align with overall release goals and timelines.
• Support backlog refinement and prioritization according to release deliverables.

ASPICE Compliance & Systems Engineering

• Ensure all release activities comply with
  ASPICE SYS.1, SYS.2, and SYS.3
  process areas.
• Support system requirement traceability, validation, and verification throughout the release lifecycle.

Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of 10+ engineers.
• Promote a collaborative, quality-driven, and delivery-focused work culture.
• Ensure timely task completion, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

• Education:
  Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
• Experience:
  Minimum
  8+ years
  in automotive systems engineering or release management.
• Technical Expertise:
• Strong understanding of ASPICE system-level processes.
• Proven experience working with
  German OEMs
  (VW, MB, BMW, Stellantis).
• Familiarity with
  Agile methodologies
  and tools (Jira, Confluence).
• Leadership:
  Demonstrated success in managing project teams of
  10+ members
  .
• Language:
  Fluent in
  German B2
  and
  English
  — both mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with release management tools such as
  Jenkins
  ,
  GitLab CI/CD
  , or
  IBM Rational
  .
• Knowledge of
  Functional Safety (ISO 26262)
  and
  AUTOSAR
  standards.
