We are currently looking for a Country Manager in the small entity of Laies located in Germany
Your responsibilities :
1) The MD represents the BU and the Group in the entity
He/she supports, deploys and enforces Group and BU policies and standards.
He/she guarantees the respect of Groupe's compliance rules and the respect of laws and regulations of the Country.
He/she ensures that the interests of the Group are given priority over local interests.
He/she represents Vossloh in front of the Community: neighborhood, administrations, professional networks, politicians. He/she protects and develops the Company's reputation.
He/she ensures the existence of a Sustainability roadmap responding to the Groupe's ambitions.
2)The MD deploys the Corporate strategy in the Country
He/she understands and deploys the Group strategy in the country. It includes to put in place a local strategy deployment at Country level, with indicators and follow up aligned with the key objectives of the Group.
He/she ensures that Vossloh is in position to keep or develop its market share in the Country according to Group strategy.
He/she identifies and manages relevant stakeholders, builds relationship with Customers, policymakers, decision makers and key partners.
He/she identifies, secures membership and animates local industry associations and alliances.
He/she ensures visibility of the Company at fairs, seminars and events. He/she Secures that the company profile is optimized versus local needs.
He/she deploys the group communication strategy: identifies target groups, takes initiative to new contacts and engages with key stakeholders.
He/she makes sure that there is available capacity to execute on strategy.
3) The MD advocates for Customer's satisfaction.
He/she leads the business and drives the teams to achieve flawless quality and absolute respect of committed timelines.
He/she cultivates a relationship of trust with the customers. He creates and sustains a strong culture of customer centricity among the teams.
He/she ensures that claims are treated with diligence and with the highest degree of professionalism.
4)The MD is accountable for risk management.
He/she ensures Safety of all the teams in the Country.
He/she ensures business continuity. He/she ensures that risks are analyzed and that there are related mitigation plans.
He/she ensures that crisis management protocols exist. He/she is the leader of the crisis cell.
He/she ensures that the Company's assets are in a good state and maintained properly – machines, buildings, land.
5)The MD is accountable for performance and progress
He/she is accountable of the target achievement of all business performance indicators defined with BU/Group management.
He/she ensures that performance is measured, tracked, reported and analyzed with the right level of depth. Deviations have to be identified and corrected spontaneously.
Beyond execution, he/she ensures the existence of progress initiatives covering all components of performance.
6) The MD is a role model as a people leader and people developer.
He/she is a model practicing the Group's leadership principles. He/she embodies Vossloh corporate culture and leadership excellence.
He/she is accountable for people's engagement. He/she implements the conditions of a qualitive engagement of all the teams, based on corporate culture and psychological safety.
He/she creates a collective commitment towards the achievement of operational objectives. He/she grows teams and individuals in the execution of their mission. He/she develops managerial quality.
He/she identifies the key competencies in relation to the business and its development and monitors development and succession plans accordingly.
He/she develops habits of permanent learning, with regular practice of REX. He/she looks for internal and external benchmarks. He/she ensures that the Country participates to internal networks and shares spontaneously its best practices.
He/she maintains a positive social climate and constructive relationships with the Unions.
He/she builds a multi-year plan of improvement of work conditions.
7)The MD is the legal representative of the BU in the Country.
He/she organizes and leads the formal events of Corporate agenda (board meetings).
Delegation of Power is officialized and approved by Central Legal Function.
He/she ensures the registration of the Company for qualification to tender processes. He/she identifies needed certifications and homologations.
Laies is a small entity (10 people / 8M€ of sales). He / she has also an operational role of supervision of client account managers (proposal development) and project management
Profile
- Education : Engineering degree
- 15 years of professional experience
- Strong background in trackwork and urban transportation systems (UTS), with in-depth knowledge of infrastructure project constraints such as site planning, cost management, and penalty handling
- Proven experience in P&L management and financial KPI monitoring
- Commercial mindset, with regular client-facing interactions
- Experienced functional leader for technical and sales teams, collaborating closely with teams in Serbia, Poland, and cross-functional departments (pre-design, supply chain)
- Fluent in English and German
