Position Overview

We are expanding our expert network and are looking for a seasoned **Government Relations & EU Public Affairs Advisor (m/f/d)** to join on a **freelance, project-based, fully remote basis**.

This role is ideally suited to a highly experienced professional with **deep expertise in EU institutions**, extensive Brussels/Strasbourg/Berlin networks, and a proven track record of advising multinational corporations, associations, or consultancies on EU policy and regulatory affairs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver strategic advice on EU legislation, regulatory developments, and political decision-making processes.

  • Leverage your high-level contacts within the European Commission, European Parliament, Council, Permanent Representations, and national ministries to support client objectives.

  • Conduct in-depth policy and regulatory analysis and develop clear, actionable recommendations for clients in multiple sectors.

  • Collaborate with Oasis Insight's global expert community on high-impact consulting projects.

  • Continuously monitor and anticipate EU policy developments, Green Deal initiatives, digital regulation, competition policy, trade, and other key dossiers.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • At least **5–10 years** of professional experience in **EU public affairs, government relations, or regulatory consulting**, with a clear focus on Brussels and/or Berlin.

  • Direct experience working **in or with** EU institutions (European Commission, Parliament, Council, agencies) or national government (e.g., German federal ministries or Permanent Representation).

  • An **established, active network** of senior contacts across EU institutions, national governments, and key stakeholder groups.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of EU legislative and regulatory procedures (ordinary legislative procedure, comitology, infringement procedures, etc.).

  • Outstanding analytical, writing, and presentation skills; ability to translate complex policy issues into concise, executive-level insights.

  • **Full professional proficiency in English** (C2); fluency in **German** and/or **French** is a strong advantage; additional EU languages are a plus.

  • Proven ability to work independently and deliver high-quality output under tight deadlines in a remote, project-based environment.
