The Role
Black Semiconductor is seeking a highly skilled Senior Equipment Engineer – RIE (Reactive Ion Etch) (f/m/d) to join our semiconductor FAB team in Aachen, Germany. In this role, you will specialize in Etch cluster systems and play a key part in the installation, maintenance, and optimization of critical equipment, directly impacting our manufacturing efficiency, yield, and overall product quality.
The ideal candidate will take a pivotal role in advancing our Etch capabilities, driving tool performance, and contributing to the success of our semiconductor manufacturing operations
To join our team, you should be excited to
Execute and support the equipment installation and process qualification activities for the Etch areaWork with suppliers and internal Black Semiconductor stakeholders to develop maintenance plansCollaborate with the technical engineering teams to drive equipment and process improvementsMentor technical engineering team members and train less-experienced personnel on Etch equipment and best practicesDevelop and implement Continuous Improvement (CIP) plans focused on improving OEE
Your Qualifications
5+ years of hands-on experience with 200mm and/or 300mm Dry Etch equipment, ideally LAM and TEL RIE platformsExperience with installation, start-up, qualification, and operation of RIE systems, including hands-on work with LAM, TEL, and AMAT tools; familiarity with ALE (Atomic Layer Etch) is a strong plusExperience troubleshooting and maintaining sub-fab and support systems, including chillers, scrubbers, and high-vacuum pumpsStrong motivation to lead CIP initiatives using 5S and Lean manufacturing methodsA hands-on, proactive mindset suited to a fast-paced pilot-line environmentStrong communication skills and fluency in English
