We are seeking dynamic and experienced system engineer to join the Future Navigation Department of ESA to consolidate efforts in innovative Navigation technology (three missions are involved: Celeste, OpStar and Genesis). 

Security:

In line with security requirements for the concerned missions of this position, the preference is that the candidate should hold an EU citizenship. Evidence of eligibility will be required from candidates as part of the recruitment process. Furthermore, in view of the nature of the work the company is in, all potential employees will undergo stringent reference and identity checks.

Overall responsibility:

Coordinate engineering, development, and validation activities with segment primes and subcontractors, ensuring the timely implementation and validation of FOPs and GOPs through dedicated and system campaigns. Collaborate closely with the three Mission Teams (Celeste, OpStar and Genesis) based primarily at ESTEC, while the technical lead for the service is located at ESOC.

Travels within Europe and, on occasion, to non-European location are expected.


Requirements
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, mathematics or physics.

  • Experience in the definition and implementation of Operational Concept and Operational Activities of Space Missions

  • Ability to manage requirements, including breakdown of requirements and tracing at different levels.

  • Experience in the monitoring of industrial services (SLAs through KPIs), including risk assessment and management.

  • Experience in AIV.

  • Experience in the Space business and in the GNSS fie

  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
