Your responsibilities
Duties include academic services in the project named above. Research associates may also pursue independent research and further academic qualifications. They may also pursue doctoral studies outside of working duties.
The position is part of a DFG-funded project dedicated to the study of electronic quantum phases in twisted and aligned transition metal dichalcogenide (TMDC) heterostructures.
The research will combine quantum transport and nanopore fabrication with cryogenic measurements and room-temperature experiments in liquid environments to explore the physics and device implications of moiré-structures.
Tasks include:
- preparation of rotationally aligned vdW heterostructures using advanced dry-transfer techniques in glove-box environments
- fabrication of multi-terminal TMDC devices for quantum transport, including optical and e-beam lithography
- low-noise transport measurements from 10 mK to 300 K using dilution refrigerators and VTI systems
- measurements at room temperature in liquid environments (also in high-impedance setups for nanopore screening)
- electronic band mapping and correlation analysis of flat-band effects, CDW, and superconducting phases
- data analysis and report writing
- preparation of manuscripts and participation in workshops and data-management activities
The position offers the opportunity to pursue a PhD degree within the framework of the project.
