HSE Lead - Data Centre

Frankfurt

€90k-100k + single accommodation, car, flights

**APPLICANTS MUST HAVE DATA CENTRE EXPERIENCE & AN EU PASSPORT**

This leading international contractor is looking for an experienced senior Health & Safety professional to take on the role of HSE Lead on a major Data Centre construction project in Frankfurt.

The successful candidate will -

  • Lead the identification and management of high-risk activities across all project phases, collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure proactive safety planning and coordination.
  • Champion the implementation and continuous improvement of risk control measures, ensuring they are effective, monitored, and embedded in daily operations.
  • Develop and maintain robust reporting and communication structures to provide clear visibility of HSE performance across the project.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of site-level HSE planning through active engagement with contractors, workers, and supervisors.
  • Be a visible and proactive safety leader onsite — conducting audits, mentoring teams, and driving a culture of safety excellence.
  • Conduct independent audits across all construction activities, identifying gaps and driving corrective actions.
  • Ensure sub-contractors establish and maintain outstanding safety practices and procedures, aligned with project and regulatory standards.

Candidates should have -

  • Proven experience in a senior HSE role on large-scale construction projects, ideally within data centre, pharmaceutical, oil & gas, or high-voltage infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong track record in contractor management and stakeholder engagement, including design teams and project professionals.
  • Deep understanding of European HSE regulations and standards, with the ability to apply them in complex, fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent communication skills — both verbal and written — with the ability to influence and lead across diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital reporting tools.
  • A collaborative mindset and a passion for building strong relationships through openness, purpose, and shared achievement.
  • Legal right to work in Germany.
  • Maximum 4 week notice/mobilisation period.
