Our team:
We are a midsize team of friendly open-source enthusiasts. Outside of coffee chats in Google Meet, we focus on IaC, automation, and continuously improving the platform that serves millions of users. Our team provides the foundational platform layers that power internet-scale applications. Our platform enables our development teams to manage cloud infrastructure, automate critical processes, and ensure the reliability of shared systems like CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes clusters, and central metrics/logging infrastructure.

Who are we looking for:
A
Senior Systems Engineer/DevOps Engineer
who is experienced in automating, managing, and optimizing cloud infrastructure and deployments, with a strong focus on using Kubernetes for orchestrating containerized applications and ensuring reliability and performance through systematic debugging. You will also be involved in interviewing and managing stakeholders of our platform, helping to derive and steer the roadmap.

Your responsibilities:

• You will be part of the Systems Engineering team with a strong focus on infrastructure automation and software engineering
• Design, build, and maintain internal automation tools and services
• You will work closely with development teams to ensure the implementation of systems engineering best practices
• "On a daily basis", you will work with platforms and technologies such as AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, VictoriaMetrics, Jenkins, and Spinnaker

What we call required:

• Strong problem-solving skills, adaptable, proactive, and willing to take ownership
• Strong communication skills (English is a must, German is a plus)
• You are passionate about managing Infrastructure and Configuration-as-Code and have a strong aversion to Click-Ops
• Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform

What we call desired:

• Good software development skills (preferable programming languages: Ruby, Python, Golang)
• Knowledge of GoatOps
• Deep knowledge of AWS services and Kubernetes
• Experience with observability tools
• You know your way around in Elasticsearch/OpenSearch
• You have worked with CI/CD tools in the past (we mostly use Jenkins and Spinnaker)
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB)
• Good knowledge of Application and Infrastructure Security would be a plus
