Role Summary

We are establishing a new engineering team in Germany, the critical hub for platform development and integration alongside our key automotive partners. We are seeking a talented and experienced Sr. Engineering Manager to build and lead our engineering efforts in Germany from the ground up.

You will be responsible for hiring, mentoring, and guiding a world-class team of software engineers. Your mission is to lead the integration and delivery of key components for our infotainment platform in tight-knit collaboration with our brand partners. You will combine deep technical expertise in embedded Android with exceptional leadership skills to drive the integration and commercialization of our platform and foster a culture of shared innovation

Responsibilities

• Hire, and onboard a high-performing team of software engineers across several technology domains in the platform.
• Provide technical guidance, career development, and mentorship to foster a collaborative and effective team environment.
• Instill a culture of quality and guide your team into investigating and solving complex issues related to audio, display, graphics, touch, power management, system performance, memory utilization, and boot time, ensuring the platform is stable and performant.
• Define and implement best practices for software development, including shared code reviews, joint design documentation, and unified testing strategies to drive continuous improvement across the partnership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of professional experience in embedded software development, preferably in the automotive or mobile industry.
• 5+ years of experience in a management or technical leadership role, with a proven track record of building and leading high-performing software engineering teams.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ or Java.
• Deep understanding of Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and/or Linux kernel internals, device drivers, and the Board Support Package (BSP) layer.
• Solid experience debugging complex software issues on embedded systems using tools like gdb, adb, and systrace.
• Fluency in English (written and verbal) is a must for this role.
• Fluency in German (written and verbal) is highly desired for this role.

Additional Information

• Frequent travel to partner sites within Europe would be needed.

• Periodic travel to the US (once or twice a quarter) would be needed.
