Your mission
As our Lab Technician, your mission is to keep our Berlin lab running safely, efficiently, and with scientific precision. You'll take ownership of organizing daily workflows, managing procurement, and maintaining our analytical and process instruments in top condition. You'll be a key pillar for our analytical work, ensuring the data we produce is reliable, high-quality, and trusted across the team. Key Responsibilities
- Operations – ownership of daily lab organization, procurement, inventory management, and compliant waste handling.
- Growth – contribution to scaling the lab's capabilities through onboarding new team members, supporting setup of new instruments, and fostering a culture of learning and collaboration across engineering and science teams.
- Reliability – ensuring dependable instrumentation performance through regular calibration and maintenance, and safeguarding the accuracy and consistency of experimental data that underpin trusted results.
- Safety – upholding and continuously improving lab safety standards while promoting accountability and best practices across the team.
Your profile
Skills and Experience
- Technical diploma, Bachelor's degree, or relevant certification in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related fields
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in a laboratory setting, with a focus on lab management and organization.
- Familiarity with basic lab equipment and processes, including preparing solutions and handling chemicals.
- Basic understanding of data interpretation, calibration records, and quality assurance principles to ensure data reliability.
- Safety Awareness: Demonstrated commitment to maintaining safe lab practices and compliance with relevant safety standards.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail in lab record-keeping and maintenance.
- Quick learner with the ability to grasp complex concepts rapidly.
- Collaborative team player with a hands-on approach.
- Genuine, self-aware, and reflective in actions and decisions.
- Highly organized with a structured work style to maintain focus and drive results.
- Active listener and clear communicator within cross-functional teams.
- Curious and open-minded.
- Valid Work Permit for Germany, or able to obtain a permit.

About us
We are an early startup with a big vision - remove 500 million tons of global CO2 emissions from the air by 2035 through Direct Air Capture, roughly the same weight as all humans on earth combined
To meet our climate targets the reduction of CO2 emissions is not enough, the world actively has to remove billions of tons of CO2 from our atmosphere. To achieve that we at Ucaneo develop an innovative electrochemical Direct Air Capture technology mimicking the human lung to remove CO2 from ambient air.
We are a science and mission-driven team, fast-moving with a break-or-make attitude. Our office and industrial hall is located at Schwarze-Pumpe-Weg 16, 12681 Berlin including a large outdoor area to build one of the largest industrial DAC plants in Germany.
