This is an excellent opportunity for ambitious IT professionals who are looking for a challenging and diverse role within a leading energy company, operating in one of the fastest-changing and most dynamic trading environments.

Market Access enables the business within Vattenfall Markets through the timely and sustainable delivery of application development and support. In this role, you will contribute to the continuous development and operation of systems that allow internal and external customers to access energy markets. You will also be involved in system analysis, daily operational support, change management, and the follow-up of market changes, including hands-on support for traders on the trading floor.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on application development
  • Collaborate closely with solution architects to design solutions and translate designs into maintainable and scalable code
  • Work directly with business stakeholders to understand their processes and requirements
  • Contribute within established agile SCRUM and DevOps teams
  • Explore and apply modern technologies, continuously improving our tools, methodologies, and work environment
  • Support users of the systems through operational tasks, based on a rotating on-call/support schedule within the team

Qualifications
Your profile:
If you are eager to learn and curious about developing your career further, you will feel right at home with us. We welcome career changers, for example professionals with a background in banking or finance.

You Bring

  • A university degree in Business and Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience in a trading environment
  • Experience with marketplace connectivity, complex IT network architectures, and low-latency communication
  • Strong software development skills in Java and Angular
  • Experience with Python, Grafana, Kafka, and Jenkins is considered a plus
  • A genuine interest in learning across the full service chain and the ability to analyze and solve complex problems
  • Energy, enthusiasm, and a collaborative mindset
  • The ability to inspire collaboration in an English-speaking working environment
