The Role
We are looking for a detail-orientated graduate (early career professional) to support the finance team in Frankfurt, working from the Frankfurt office. The Frankfurt finance team is responsible for internal companies in Germany, Switzerland, Italy, and the Netherlands, and together with another controller based in Stockholm, for Scandinavia and dormant German companies. The Frankfurt finance team also works closely with the finance teams in Jersey and London.
Responsibilities
Daily/Weekly
Invoice check (before Agresso/and in Agresso) and scan to Accounts Payable Team Jersey on a daily base
Direct debits (bank accounts checking and "preparing invoices")
Large supplier invoice reconciliation
Daily ad hoc request re payments/postings/reconciliation/cost code/accounts checks and reminders for Externals (e.g. supplier) and Internal staff (Frankfurt Assistants and Accounts Payable Team)
Overview review of cash and credit card expense claims (Concur Exp Claim Module)
Reconciliation with HQ in Jersey regarding cost centers and booking guidelines
Maintenance of charts of accounts and coding rules
Collaboration on special projects and maintenance of service contracts
Supporting weekly payment run (e.g. checking in advance re "urgent payments") for the Nordics (Nordea) and GE (Commerzbank)
Review and approval of biweekly travel agency invoices in terms of content, planning, amounts, and location/date
Monthly
Posting and reconciling Frankfurt Petty Cash
Supporting Frankfurt Finance Team and Accounts Payable by monthly bank recs
Reconciliation of German / Nordics / Italian rent accounts/ancillary costs/other apportionments and transparent preparation for auditors
Assistance with the preparation of monthly VAT returns
Reconciliation "private accounts" and intercompany accounts check
Support in the preparation of travel expenses for payroll tax purposes for the HR team -Maintenance of the list of employee addresses
General
Preparatory work for the preparation of financial reports for international companies
Assistance with annual financial statements and audits
Close cooperation with the Jersey Finance team regarding coding / projecting of costs (invoices/travel expenses). Updating Cost code- and Account lists, Coding rules
Responsible for setting up the company credit cards for the employees in Germany
Skills & Competencies
Professional experience in finance, for example through internships and/or part-time jobs
Good knowledge of German tax law and turnover law
Affinity in technical expertise, especially in relation to digitalization
Excellent computer skills and use of MS Office (Word, Excel & Outlook)
Excel skills at advanced level (Excelerator)
Excellent German and English written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Excellent attention to detail
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferably in Finance related subjects
