Join the Machine Intelligence department, part of the manufacturing organization, where we bring cutting-edge AI and machine learning solutions to industrial machinery that manufactures tires. Our work spans control systems, measurement technologies, extended reality, and robotics, creating a dynamic environment for innovation.

You'll be part of an innovative team shaping the future of smart manufacturing by contributing to real-world industrial challenges of optimizing machines through data-driven solutions. This internship and thesis provide a unique opportunity to work in machine learning and intelligent control systems that dynamically adapt to changing conditions in manufacturing.

Within this exciting work environment at our location in Hanover-Stöcken, we are offering an internship starting in March 2026, with the option to follow up with a thesis project. For the best possible learning experience, the internship should last about 6 months.

Tasks include:

• Experiment with time-series and tabular machine learning models, applying feature engineering techniques to boost model performance.
• Develop adaptive control systems and machine learning models for real-world industrial challenges.
• Deploy and validate models on production machinery to optimize manufacturing processes.

Your profile

• Enrolled students (m/f/diverse) that study mechatronics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or similar
• Advanced skills in Python and machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, Pytorch etc.
• Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and control systems.
• Basic understanding of reinforcement learning.
• Very good written and spoken English skills and good written and spoken German skills
• Teamwork, creativity, and interest in innovative technical solutions
• Strong communication skills and a structured approach to work
