Data Center Support Technician - Frankfurt

We are working with a German data-center provider, operating high-availability Tier 3 facilities based in Frankfurt/Mainz. They deliver secure, sustainable, and cutting-edge co-location, cloud and managed-hosting services — providing clients with green-powered, future-proof IT infrastructure.

Their data centers include over 1000 racks and have a capacity of up to 24MW's of power

As a Data Center Support Technician, you'll work inside these state-of-the-art data centers, helping maintain top-tier servers, networking and uptime for enterprise-class customers.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hardware installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, including servers, storage systems, PDUs, and networking equipment.
  • Carry out rack and stack duties, cabling, and structured build work for new and existing deployments.
  • Provide remote hands support for customers, including reboots, component swaps, cabling checks, and diagnostics.
  • Support both internal teams and external customers through ticket- and email-based communication.
  • Assist with customer hardware deployments onsite, ensuring clean, accurate, and secure installation.
  • Monitor and maintain data center infrastructure in line with operational standards.
  • Contribute to process improvements, documentation, and small internal development tasks.
  • Participate in data center tours and customer visits as required.
  • Collaborate closely with a multi-shift operations team to ensure smooth 24/7 facility coverage.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Background in IT support, data centre operations, or related technical environment.
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Hardware installation and troubleshooting
  • Cabling and rack setup
  • Comfortable working with ticketing systems and written communication.
  • Must be willing to perform physical tasks such as lifting equipment, installing hardware, and navigating data hall spaces.
