Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Additive Manufacturing Field Technician with strong experience in metal 3D printing technologies. The technician will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and support industrial metal AM machines at customer sites.

This position requires up to 60% or more travel, depending on customer needs and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

·       Perform installation, commissioning, and calibration of metal additive manufacturing systems.

·       Execute preventive and corrective maintenance, including laser calibration, recoater adjustments, inert gas

system checks, etc.

·       Diagnose and solve mechanical, electrical, and software issues with a first-time fix approach.

·       Provide on-site customer training on machine operation, safety, and maintenance procedures.

·       Ensure full compliance with safety protocols, especially in handling metal powders.

·       Prepare clear and complete service reports, logs, and documentation.

·       Collaborate with engineering and support teams for continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.

·       Support process optimization and contribute to internal knowledge development.

·       Follow-up of machines operating in our Munich facility, including production machines that will be actively

running, monitored, regularly updated, and maintained to ensure stable and continuous operation.

Required Skills & Qualifications

·       Technical diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or related fields.

· years of experience with metal additive manufacturing systems or complex industrial machinery.

·      
Fluency in English (written and spoken) is mandatory.

·       Knowledge of a second language (e.g., Chinese, German, Spanish, or others) is preferred.

·       Ability to write technical documentation, including procedures, maintenance manuals, installation guides, and

service reports.

·       Strong mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic troubleshooting abilities.

·       Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.

·       Hands-on understanding of powder-bed fusion processes and machine calibration.

·       Proficiency with diagnostic tools and process control systems.

·       Strong communication skills and customer-oriented mindset.

·       Ability and willingness to travel up to 60% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications

·       Proven experience with leading global brands in the Additive Manufacturing is considered a strong asset.

·       Knowledge of powder handling, safety standards, and post-processing (CNC, EDM).

·       Experience with slicing software (Materialise, Siemens NX, Autodesk, etc.).

·       Knowledge of troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair tasks.
