What is it about?

• Make quality everyone's business: Design, roll out and continuously improve a QA process that fits agile, cross-functional product teams - greenfield initiatives and modernisation projects alike. Coach engineers, product owners and designers on test-first thinking and acceptance-criteria clarity.
• Automate where it matters: Build and maintain full E2E regression suites (e.g. Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar) that run in our GitLab CI/CD pipelines before every deployment. Integrate API, contract, performance and accessibility checks so releases are safe, fast and fully traceable.
• Own the pipelines: Pair with DevOps to define quality gates, parallel test execution, flaky-test detection and clear reporting dashboards. Keep an eye on pipeline efficiency - green builds should be both trustworthy and quick.
• Bring quality into the room early: Participate in backlog refinement, architecture sessions and UX reviews to surface risks before a line of code is written. Define and maintain test data, mocks and environments the teams can rely on.
• Make QA a driver of product success: Act as the go-to person for QA across multiple product teams, mentor junior testers or developers, and shape our overall quality strategy.
• Stay curious: Experiment with new testing frameworks, containerised test grids, AI-assisted test generation - anything that helps us raise the quality bar without slowing us down.

Profile:

• 5 + years of professional QA experience in agile product teams, with a track record of designing or overhauling test strategies.
• Deep hands-on skills in automated E2E, API and integration testing (Cypress, Playwright, Selenium/WebDriver, Rest-Assured, etc.).
• Solid scripting or coding ability in JavaScript/TypeScript (bonus: Java or PHP) to extend frameworks and write custom helpers.
• Proven experience wiring tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitLab preferred) and working with Dockerised environments.
• Understanding of performance, security and accessibility testing principles.
• Fluent English (German is a plus), strong communication skills and the confidence to advocate for quality at every stage.
• A valid EU work permit; candidates already based in Germany (or nearby EU countries) are strongly preferred.
