About the Role

Hi, I am Nils Langner - Director, Engineering, and your future manager.

We're looking for a Senior Manager, Software Development to lead multiple SaaS engineering teams distributed across Europe. You'll play a key role in scaling our software delivery capabilities, fostering collaboration, and enabling our teams to deliver exceptional, high-performing products used by millions of customers worldwide.

This role is ideal for an experienced engineering leader who thrives on building high-performing teams, guiding technical direction, and aligning people and processes to achieve meaningful outcomes — without needing to code every day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor multiple Team Leads, creating clarity, cohesion, and alignment across geographies.
  • Support and coach Team Leads, helping them strengthen leadership capability, collaboration, and technical excellence.
  • Identify synergies and shared challenges across teams and convert them into scalable technical and organizational improvements.
  • Stay engaged with technical decisions — lead architectural discussions and guide critical design trade-offs.
  • Foster a culture of empowerment and accountability where teams operate autonomously and deliver measurable impact.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional leaders in Product, Design, and Operations to ensure strategy, delivery, and quality align.
  • Drive engineering excellence through process improvements, clear performance metrics, and continuous learning.
  • Act as a bridge between technical depth and business strategy, ensuring long-term scalability and innovation.

Your Qualifications

  • Solid background in software development and technical leadership across multiple teams or complex projects.
  • Proven experience leading engineering organizations within SaaS or cloud-based environments.
  • Deep understanding of agile methodologies, system architecture, and modern software delivery practices.
  • Strong ability to communicate vision, structure, and direction clearly across both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience coaching and developing engineering leaders and fostering inclusive, high-trust cultures.
  • Strategic thinker who balances innovation, scalability, and execution.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in German is a plus.

  • Establish performance goals, metrics, and reporting practices for your teams.
  • Align technical execution with broader business and product goals.
  • Implement process and communication improvements that enhance delivery consistency.

120 Days

  • Drive a cross-team improvement initiative (e.g., process alignment, tooling enhancement, or architectural modernization).
  • Strengthen leadership maturity within your teams through coaching and development.
  • Shape a long-term engineering strategy focused on scalability, innovation, and operational excellence.
