Automation Engineer

I am seeking an experienced automation engineer or technician for my client whereby you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of automated systems for production processes in the chemical industry.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, and deploy automation concepts for manufacturing facilities and technical systems
- Work closely with different departments to uncover automation potential and enhance operational workflows
- Analyse system performance, carry out fault diagnostics, and resolve technical issues in automated environments
- Prepare and update technical records and user documentation; support and instruct plant personnel in system usage
- Apply and monitor adherence to applicable safety rules, standards, and regulatory requirements throughout all project phases
Qualifications:
- Technical degree in automation engineering, electrical engineering, or a comparable discipline, or completed technician training
- Several years of practical experience (minimum 3 years) in industrial automation within a production or process-driven setting
- In-depth knowledge of control systems and industrial automation technologies, particularly PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens) and SCADA solutions
- Strong interface knowledge between IT and operational technology, including industrial cybersecurity principles
- Structured, solution-oriented working style with strong analytical capabilities
- Confident communicator with the ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams
- Very good German and solid English language skills
